Herman Gordijn designed sets and costumes for most of the leading Dutch theater companies, between 1960 -1970.

In 1981, after more than ten years of absence, he designed the sets for Who is afraid of Virginia Woolf (Albee) for Het Publiekstheater, his last work for theater.
